Adelaide and Perth, to Hawker via Laura.
Whilst in Adelaide we both enjoyed grand children. Dallas flew to Perth and spent quality time with Connor and Shenoah before they left for a holiday in Bali. I spent my time with Ela and Leo.
We had a great time doing art, playing on the beach at Kingston Park and doing school drop off and pick up. It was precious. We also attended the Hallett Cove S.L.S.C. reunion at the Hallett Cove and Sheidow Park Lions Barn (Jim Sheidows old farm where I did considerable plumbing maintenance in years gone by). Seven days down the track we enjoyed a lovely breakfast with my family and set off for Clare.
Unfortunately, Clare was fully booked out so we had to move on to Laura, a beautiful Northern farming town on the way to the Flinders Ranges. Laura is also home to Golden North Ice Cream, one of the best ice creams in Australia. As well, Laura is an SA mid north town that poet CJ Dennis of "The Sentimental Bloke" spent time in.
We spent 2 days in Laura recuperating from a cold (Dallas caught on the flight from Perth) and an ulcerated leg ( a Shipright injury from some time back) that I had succumbed to.
On the 12th of June we traveled on to Hawker via Melrose and Quorn. A very pleasant drive giving us time to then travel on to Wilpena, Blinman and Arkaroola. Dallas was also recovering well from her chest infection, a result of the flight back from Perth.
We have certainly had a better trip than Ainesley and Ros. They hit a roo just outside of Pt Lincoln causing some damage to the front LH section of their car. No one injured thankfully and they are now on their way home. I don't think Ainesley will hoist his Australian Boxing Kangaroo flag again!
